Build America, Buy America Compliant
Hamilton Kent – now proudly compliant with the Build America, Buy America Act (BABA). Of our extensive range of pipe joining and sealing solutions, we are excited to announce that the following brands have met the stringent requirements of BABA:
BABA is Public Law 117-58 included in the Infrastructure Investment & Jobs Act (IIJA) – also referred to as the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) – under Title IX, Subtitle A, Part I – Buy America Sourcing Requirements.
Starting May 14, 2022, federal financial infrastructure investments must comply with the BABA requirement. Absent a waiver, all iron, steel, manufactured products, and construction materials permanently incorporated into an infrastructure project subject to the BABA requirements must be produced in the United States. According to the law, a “project” is defined as “any activity related to the construction, alteration, maintenance, or repair of infrastructure in the U.S.” Buy America preference only applies to articles, materials, and supplies that are consumed in, incorporated into, or affixed to an infrastructure project.
