Tylox® SuperSeal™ Box Culvert Gasket

No messy butyl sealant. No challenging joint wrap installation. You only need the most reliable seal from the best gasket on the market.

The unique design of the Tylox® SuperSeal™ (TSS) gasket, in combination with a round-cornered, single-offset joint box design, offers the advantages of watertight joints and reduced installation time. Just like pipe joints, the TSS gaskets have been sealing since the 90’s, and it works equally well on box culverts.

Product Benefits

  • Saves time and money – no need for butyl rope, external wrap or lubrication
  • Faster installation
  • Self-centering
  • Suitable for all sizes of box culvert
  • Meets ASTM C1677 material requirements
  • Standard and oil-resistant versions available

The lubrication is contained within the rolling tube so the gasket is impervious to mud, dirt and debris and the rubber is resistant to ultraviolet rays. The innovative design of the gasket enables it to self-center on the box and roll into place during the homing process, eliminating pinching to create a watertight seal.

Suitable for all sizes of box culverts, the Tylox® SuperSeal™ is installed at the manufacturing plant, saving significant installation time. No need to waste valuable labor in the field installing messy butyl sealant and mortaring or wrapping box culvert joints. A box culvert with a SuperSeal™ gasket arrives on site ready to go.

Box culverts with Tylox® SuperSeal™ gaskets and single offset joints are regularly tested to the 5 psig requirements of ASTM C1677. Some have been tested up to 13 psig in straight alignment to meet more stringent jobsite conditions. Please consult your Hamilton Kent representative regarding your application requirements

Tylox SuperSeal gaskets are produced in many different profiles to properly seal a variety of joint designs common in the pipe industry. However, there are only a few that we recommend for sealing single offset box culvert joints, please see chart.

If your company has existing equipment for manufacturing a gasketed joint, please provide a joint drawing to your HK representative so the right gasket can be selected and priced for you. If you’re considering purchase of single offset equipment, please consult with HK so we can provide a recommended joint design.
